Dowsing
Dowsing or divining is the attempt to locate ground water,
oil,
gemstones,
gravesites,
buried metals or
ores,
Locating
water
is the most common activity of
Dowsers
and is known as water finding, water witching, doodlebugging or water dowsing.
Some diviners use a dowsing rod, divining rod or witching rod to detect what they are
searching for.
Some believe that divining may be an ideomotor phenomenon, a psychological phenomenon
wherein a subject makes motions unconsciously.
